First Fridays

Early Childhood Rhythm

Our First Friday gatherings follow a gentle, predictable rhythm that supports young children through Circle Time, Craft (optional), Free Play, Story Time, and more.

This offering is a wonderful way to "practice" for the coming school years, for homeschooling families to socialize, and for all to experience rhythm under the canopy of pines and the watchful eyes of familiar familes.

1 Goats.HEIC

🌿 9:30–9:45 — Arrival & Time with the Goats

Families arrive gradually and are welcomed into the space. Children visit the goats, explore the area, and reconnect with familiar faces while easing into the morning.

2 Walk.HEIC

🌿 9:45–10:00 — Walking Together to the Circle Area

As the group gathers, we walk together to the circle space, transitioning gently from arrival into shared time.

🌿 9:50–10:00 — Circle Time

Circle time opens the morning with a familiar rhythm of an opening poem, seasonal songs, finger plays, and simple movement to help children feel grounded and connected.

🌿 10:00–10:30 — Free Play

Children move freely through the space, engaging in imaginative play, exploration, and movement. This time allows children to follow their own interests and interact naturally with one another.

5 Craft 2.HEIC

🌿 10:15–10:30 — Simple Craft (Optional)

During free play, a simple, seasonal craft is available for children who are interested. Participation is always optional and offered as an invitation rather than a directive.

6 Puppet 2.HEIC

🌿 10:30–10:45 — Seasonal Puppet Show

The group gathers again to share a simple community snack and enjoy a short seasonal puppet show, offering a shared imaginative experience and a gentle transition toward the close of the morning.

7 Story 3.HEIC

🌿 10:45-10:50 — Story

A simple story follows the puppet show, bringing the group into a quieter, listening space before saying goodbye.

🌿 10:50 — Goodbye Circle & Shared Cleanup

We close with a brief goodbye circle and shared cleanup, helping children transition out of the morning with care and intention.

Stay & Play

Some Fridays are meant to be simple.

Stay & Play is an invitation to slow down, spread out a blanket, and enjoy an unhurried morning in the woods.

We'll begin with a seasonal circle time, plenty of time for children to wander, imagine, build, and play while grown-ups connect. A light community snack is provided with a story before leaving.

No crafts to finish. No lessons to keep up with. Just time together.

Open to Active, Returning, and New Families.

Crafting Burlap Project

Folk Bees

A quilting bee is a communal social gathering where people collaborate to assemble, stitch, and finish a quilt.

Today, "bees" are still very active, though their purpose has shifted from pure necessity to social connection, skill-sharing, and philanthropy.

  • For parents who:

    • Long for more art and depth

    • Want to offer meaningful experiences

    • Feel stretched doing it alone

    • Are seeking true community

    • Are hungry for a village

  • For children ages 2–8 who are ready to:

    • Work slowly with their hands

    • Engage with artistic materials at their level

    • Follow gentle rhythm

    • Take pride in careful work

This is for families who value presence, patience, and shared care.
