Stories by the Fire
Stories by the Fire is a simple, intentional gathering for women to step away from the noise of daily life and reconnect through ancestral folk tales, nature, and presence.
We meet at dusk, settling in around the fire as ancient folklore is read aloud. There is no pressure to share or perform just space to listen, reflect, and be in the company of other women in an open, grounded setting.
This offering is intentionally child-free to allow for uninterrupted time in nature and deeper restoration.
Each gathering is low-key and welcoming. Bring a blanket or chair, dress for the weather, and arrive ready to slow down.

About the Book
Selections will be read from Women Who Run with the Wolves, a collection of myths, folktales, and stories that explore the instinctual nature of women. Drawing from global folklore traditions, the book invites a return to intuition, inner knowing, and the deeper rhythms of the feminine psyche.
About the Author
Clarissa Pinkola Estés is a Jungian psychoanalyst, storyteller, and keeper of traditional folklore. With roots in both academic psychology and oral storytelling traditions, her work focuses on the instinctual and intuitive life of women.
She is known for gathering and preserving ancient stories from diverse cultures, then interpreting them through a psychological and symbolic lens. Her approach is not clinical or academic in tone, but deeply narrative, inviting listeners to engage with story as a way of remembering, rather than learning.
Her work bridges the worlds of myth, psyche, and lived experience, making her stories especially resonant in settings like fireside gatherings, where listening and reflection are central.
Folk Bees
A quilting bee is a communal social gathering where people collaborate to assemble, stitch, and finish a quilt.
Today, "bees" are still very active, though their purpose has shifted from pure necessity to social connection, skill-sharing, and philanthropy.

Book Circle
Our virtual book circle meets twice a month on Monday evenings via zoom during the fall, winter, and spring.
Together, we read and discuss books related to childhood, parenting, family rhythm, education, community, and the ideas shaping the way we live. Each season centers on one selected book, with time to reflect, share experiences, and explore how the ideas may apply in everyday family life.
The circle is open to adults who want thoughtful conversation and a steady point of connection throughout the year. New book selections are announced before each season, and future titles may be chosen through a group vote.

& Festival Commitee
The Festival Committee is for mothers who have attended at least 3 sessions in the last 4 months and meets the Tuesday before a microfestival to decorate the grounds, plan, and spend time together in community.
Those interested in joining the Women's Circle may attend a Festival Committee session to be nominated for membership. Please reach out with any questions on Women's Circle.
Children may be present (and are welcome), but the circle centers the women who hold the rhythm of family and community life.
